ARB Cooler Mounted Paper Towel Holder

Despite the amazing TrekBoxx Alpha drawer system in our Jeep, we found accessing the paper towels was a bit cumbersome, so I came up with a plan. We used to keep them in the drawer below the ARB fridge, but that took many steps to access, and required significant drawer space. I couldn't help but notice the area between the fridge and the back glass was about paper towel roll sized, so I pursued the idea further. We brainstormed many ideas, and ultimately came up with this:

Building the paper towel holder

Lots of ideas were floated, and finally we settled on this: We sourced some 1/2" aluminum tubing, and used a Ridgid 1/2" bender to bend it into the appropriate shape – like this:

After confirming there was nothing important in this part of the fridge, we drilled 1/2" holes for the new holder to fit through.

We used shaft collars to keep the rod in position through the fridge like this:

The paper towels are easily slipped on/off from the end for simple changes, while the curve on the end has held them in place perfectly over the roughest 4x4 trails. There is just enough friction from the weight of the roll against the fridge to easily dispense and tear off individual towels with one hand.

Here you can see how it fits between the fridge and the back glass:

Final Thoughts

We LOVE them in this location. We can even access them simply by opening the bottom tailgate without even lifting the glass! The position is perfect right above the table top where we do all our cooking too. The is a mod we should have done years ago. While this might seem like just a silly little mod, it makes all the difference in day to day use of the Jeep.

To be transparent as possible, I want to add that we bought all these parts at full retail. Also, we will earn some commission if you buy through one of our provided links.
